Refund policy

1. Introduction
At SilkandSutra, customer satisfaction is my priority. However, due to the nature of fabric and handmade products, I have a fair and transparent return policy. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By placing an order with me, Raju Choudhary (Sole Proprietor of SilkandSutra), you agree to this Return and Refund Policy .

2. Return Window

  • You must initiate a return request within [7/10/15/30] days of receiving your order .

  • Requests made after this period will not be accepted.

3. Eligibility Criteria for Returns
Returns are accepted only under the following conditions:

  • Defective Product: The saree received has a visible manufacturing defect (tear, stain, or weaving flaw) .

  • Wrong Product: You received a completely different saree than what you ordered .

  • Significant Color Variation: The color of the product is significantly different from what was displayed on the website (please note: minor variations due to screen resolution/monitor settings are not eligible).

4. Condition of Items
Returned items must meet the following conditions:

  • Unwashed, unused, and with no signs of wear .

  • All original tags must still be attached .

  • Items must be returned in original packaging.

5. Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)
The following items cannot be returned or exchanged :

  • Stitched or Altered Products: Sarees with stitched blouses, fall & pico work, or any customizations.

  • Washed or Used Products: Items that have been washed, worn, or show signs of use.

  • Missing Tags: Products not returned in original condition with all tags and packaging intact.

  • Sale/Discounted Items: Products purchased during a sale or with a special discount (final sale) .

  • Pure Silk Sarees: (Optional - include if you want to exclude these) Due to their delicate nature, pure silk sarees are not eligible for return unless defective.

6. Proof of Delivery (Mandatory)
To process any return related to damage or wrong product, you must provide an unedited unboxing video. The video must clearly show the opening of the package and the condition of the saree. Claims without this video will not be entertained.

7. How to Initiate a Return
To start a return, please email me at silkandsutrainfo@gmail.com within the return window with :

  1. Your Order Number.

  2. Photos/Videos clearly showing the defect/wrong product.

  3. Your request (exchange or refund).

8. Return Shipping Costs

  • [Option A: Customer Pays] The customer is responsible for bearing the return shipping costs .

  • [Option B: Free Returns] I offer free return shipping for defective or wrong items.

  • Please use a reputable courier with tracking and send the product to the address I provide. I am not responsible for lost return packages.

9. Restocking Fee

  • [Optional] A restocking fee of [e.g., 10-15%] may be deducted from your refund to cover inspection and handling costs .

10. Refund Process
Once I receive the returned item, I will inspect it thoroughly (Quality Check) .

  • If approved, a refund will be initiated to your original payment method OR store credit will be issued.

  • Refunds typically take [5-7/7-10] business days to reflect in your account after approval .

  • Please note that payment gateway charges (typically 2-3%) may be deducted from the refund amount, as these are non-refundable.

11. Exchanges
If you wish to exchange the product for a different saree, I will guide you through the process. You will need to return the original item (as per conditions above) and place a new order separately. Encouraging exchanges helps keep my small business cash flow positive .

12. Order Cancellation
You can cancel your order only if it has not yet been dispatched. Please email me immediately. If the order is already shipped, cancellation will not be possible, and you will have to follow the return process instead.
